Top Lakes To Visit That Are Perfect For Campsites

Camping is an excellent formula for spending quality time with your loved ones. As long as you pick the right destination, you should be able to create wonderful memories with your family members. The mountains are great for camping and so are lakes. In fact, you would see lakeside campgrounds full of tents and RVs, especially in the summertime. With open water, cool breeze, blue skies, and plenty of activities, a weekend camping trip on the lake would be great.

In the United States, there are so many lakes that offer beautiful sceneries and wide campgrounds for campers. Here are the top must-see lakes:

Lake Chautauqua – New York

The Chautauqua Lake in Western New York is 17 miles long, offering about 246 incredible camping sites. You’ll get to enjoy the stunning view of the lake as well as the open and wooded acres. Whether you prefer a camping tent, RV, or a cabin, you have plenty to choose from. You and your family can also dip in the pool, engage in various sports, visit the wineries, shop at the local stores, and dine at the different restaurants serving delightful meals. Just be sure to make the reservation ahead of time.

Lake MacBride – Iowa

Lake MacBride State Park has a lot to offer to outdoor enthusiasts like you. You can swim in the designated area, explore the park trails, watch the birds, or play your favorite games. You can also rent a boat and engage in various water activities. The state park has two campgrounds, the modern and non-modern. The former offers electric and full hook-up, including a trailer dump station, shower, and restroom. The latter, on the other hand, has non-electric campsites. You can expect flush and non-flush restrooms, though. It is located in a shaded area near the lake. Both campgrounds are really pretty and there is a playground nearby.
